Here are some examples of ways you can help:
-
Fundraising - Pick up auction items; decorate for the gala
-
Communications - Work event tables manning games; passing out brochures
-
Mentoring moms
-
Operations - Lawncare; small repairs
-
Spirituality - Hold devotions; decorate the house seasonally
-
Resources - Keep resources for moms up-to-date
-
General Volunteers - transport moms to appointments; help maintain donations; teach a life skill class; hold a craft night
Female volunteers who will have regular contact with the mothers and babies will be required to:
-
Fill out an application and meet personally with a house director.
-
Sign a confidentiality agreement promising not to share information learned about the residents on social media or with anyone other than staff.
-
Undergo a background check that will be good for 7 years. Those who underwent a background check within the past 5 years for the Diocese of Owensboro’s Safe Environment Training do not need another check.
-
If providing transportation for mothers and babies, a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle insurance is needed.
